Summertime is coming soon....

Hey. Have you ever just sat down and thought how crazy life gets, and how crazy fast it seems to go. It’s hard to believe my sophomore year is almost over. 2 weeks left to be precise. Life can change so quickly, so suddenly that you can miss some of the most amazing things in life. That’s always been one of my biggest problems that I’m so busy or I’m so stretched for time that I can’t just sit and see the beauty. Well, I was really determined to change that this past year and in a way I have become successful. I’ve learned that stress is a positive thing if you can use it for the better. By that I mean, let the stress make you study harder when you are studying but don’t forget to have a good time when you take breaks. Its taken me years to actually get to this point, and I know I still have room to grow, but man…when you just sit back and look at the world around you it can be amazing to see what God has given us.

Ok..try this… at a recent bible study everyone went outside and sat down by the lake just looking out into the wilderness. They gave us a challenge… for the next week everyday to go somewhere different and just sit in silence looking, listening and praying. I thought it would be fun just to see if I could do it, then realized how much noise we have in our world. No wonder at times we can’t hear God talking to us… we don’t take the time to listen.

That is something that has been on my heart lately as things are buzzing here around campus. School is almost out for the summer, the weather is beautiful and classes are getting more stressful. Now when they tell you classes get harder in college…its partially true… they are hard, but you know more information so it’s a different kind of hard. Don’t let it worry you though…you can do it.

As for my life, things are amazing. I just found out that my baby dog..not so baby anymore…but she is pregnant and will be having puppies on the 12th of May. I’ll be sure to put pictures up for everyone to see. I AM SOO EXCITED. My family keeps telling me stories daily how she is so cuddly and her belly is getting so big that she can’t jump up on the bed any longer.

Our Final Golf South Conference Championship is coming up this weekend, so we are preparing for that. We will leave on Saturday early in the morning play a practice round that day. Then have 2 days of competition following that. Be sure to keep us in your prayers.

My clubs function is coming up very soon. This year we are having a 40’s and 50’s Hollywood Formal. I had the honor of planning that this year so I’m very excited to see how everything works out. It’s a tradition here at Harding that the beaux and Queens for the club help to plan the entertainment. That is always a highlight or any function.

As for right now my life is really centered on my classes though. I will also be staying for Intersession this year to take a class called BioChemistry. I will work day and night for 2 weeks and be done with the class. It’s pretty cool how it works. Well…I have a major test tomorrow so I should probably be studying, but thanks for the Blog site I got a chance to take a break, or just procrastinate…one of the two..haha

In his love,
Vanessa

Hi! I was looking at Harding college, and I had a question. Do the chapel services have music? If they do, what type of music is played? Hymns? Contemporary? Thanks
